The department developed a methodology for the annual CTE audit that measures program quality to ensure alignment between the state’s CTE programs and Florida’s established economic and workforce priorities. 第一阶段是全州范围内的项目审查, Phase 2 was the local program review and Phase 3 was the sharing of information and best practices.

在CTE审核的第一阶段, the Department developed a methodology to measure each CTE program’s Labor Market Demand (Market Demand) and Institutional Program Performance at the statewide level. 在第二阶段的CTE审核, programs that did not meet benchmarks on Market Demand or Institutional Program Performance in Phase 1 underwent local program reviews. On 2020年2月3日, the department emailed memos and templates to every district and institution that offered the identified programs requiring a local program review.

Institutions with programs that progressed to local review returned completed templates to the department. The department convened a team of DCAE and 佛罗里达学院分部 (DFC) reviewers to evaluate local program reviews of secondary and postsecondary programs. The review team was provided all data collected through the statewide and local program reviews to inform the process. DCAE and DFC senior leadership developed recommendations for action on programs based on the local program reviews of Market Demand and Institutional Program Performance.

在第二阶段, programs that did not meet Institutional Program Performance benchmarks in Phase 1 and programs with insufficient data to assess Institutional Program Performance in Phase 1 were sent for local program review. Local Institutional Program Performance reviews were designed to provide additional information about each program at each district/ institution offering the program. 在审计的第一年, the department requested programs to submit their most recent existing program evaluation accompanied by a survey regarding the program’s status. This information was captured via the Program Status Templates and the submission deadline was 2020年6月30日. The local Institutional Program Performance (Program Status Templates) were submitted through a 谷歌的形式.

    The CTE audit continues to be a valuable means to assess for program quality and local Market Demand, with the second cycle of the audit seeking to build upon the 成功es and lessons learned of the first year. The Commissioner of Education will make recommendations to the governor to strengthen CTE programs and to eliminate CTE offerings that are not aligned to market demands.
